A program like no other, the all new Certificate in Program Development for Adult Learners puts you in a class all of your own. Leap beyond traditional expectations with innovations that punctuate every part of the program. Applicable for workplace, community, and post-secondary environments, courses feature applied projects and are delivered in unique modular formats

*The Certificate in Program Development for Adult Learners is an industry leading program that replaces the Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE).

Put your projects to work. With a project that accounts for one-third of each core course, you can bring you class work straight to work … for a real-world application.

Classes that serve you. Modular courses allow you to tailor the program according to what you need. Varying in length, and with no required order of completion, you can take what you need when it personally or professionally serves you.

Who is the Program for?

The program is suitable for anyone who develops and/or delivers teaching and training to adults in workplace, community, or post-secondary settings.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the program, you must have a high school diploma (or its equivalent). You need to complete and submit an application form, pay the application fee and provide an official high school and/or post-secondary transcript.

Program Length

Up to 5 years (part time – varied formats) 210 hours

The 210 hour program consists of 8 required courses (138 hours); and 72 hours of elective courses.

Fees

$100 for applying to the program plus course fees.

What is Online Learning?

Online learning is how we offer the course content. The where and when and is completely up to you. You’re free to decide the way that you’d like to integrate the classroom into your life, whether you’d like to do the course work on lunch breaks, in bed, or on a picnic table on a leisurely Saturday afternoon. Simply download the course modules, and learn at your own pace. Remember, instructors are still available to help when you need it.Online courses are delivered through UofM’s online learning management system UM Learn.

Can I just enroll in a single course if I'm not interested in the entire program?

Yes, you can enroll in just a single course. Completed courses can later be applied towards a Certificate in Program Development for Adult Learners by Extended Education at the University of Manitoba.
